I graduated in Environmental Biology and got an MSc Degree in Conservation Biology in the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. My main interests are conservation, biogeography and ecology, and my goal is to work on applied conservation, especially in Angola, where I am from. There I have worked on environmental consulting, applied conservation projects in priority habitats such as the Afromontane and the escarpment forests, and produced material for environmental education.
In 2015–2018 I worked within the Southern African Science Service Centre for Climate Change and Adaptive Land Management (SASSCAL) Project, where I undertook research on amphibians and reptiles, performing surveys throughout Angola and creating a collection for their study.
I am currently a PhD student at CIBIO/UP and my present research aims at studying the taxonomy and ecology of Angolan amphibians and applying this knowledge to contribute for the conservation of the poorly studied Angolan biodiversity.
