I am still graduating in Biology at the Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade do Porto (FCUP). The scientific areas I’m most interested in are Conservation Biology, Biodiversity, Ecology and Evolution of vertebrates. At the moment I’m doing an internship at the CIBIO/UP on topic: "Weather conditions influence on population densities of common Saharan rodents"
The aim of this internship is to test if population density estimates of Gerbillus species could be explained by weather conditions prior to tripping of animals. I will specifically analyse if events of rain occurrences between the years 2009 and 2014 has influenced local population densities of Gerbillus rodents to be able to predict reproduction efforts of species based on the meteorological data.
