Over the past 10 years I have been working in conservation related issues, studying rare and elusive species like Asiatic cheetah and Asiatic black bear to provide data for conservation and government organizations and addressing human-wildlife conflict, poaching and conservation through education. In two periods (from 2005 to 2007 and 2009 to 2010) I was working as a research assistant in “Conservation of Asiatic Cheetah Project (CACP)”, a project established by Department of Environment of Iran in collaboration with UNDP, GEF.
My research interest is wildlife ecology and conservation with special interest in large mammals focusing on topics like population genetics, landscape ecology, biogeography and conservation planning.
I did my MSc at the Uppsala University, Biology Education Center in “ecology and conservation” program; For my thesis, I was tracking the endangered Iranian Asiatic black bears using noninvasive genetics. Currently I am a BIODIV PhD student at the University of Porto and CIBIO/InBIO.
