I am completing a graduation in Biology at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, and currently I am doing an internship at CIBIO/UP. My research project title is "Changes in a reptile assemblage from Northern Portugal: effects of global warming and forest fire in a 13-years period." The main goal of this project is to compare species composition and abundance of a reptile assemblage between samples obtained in two different fieldwork periods, 1999-2001 and 2013, in the Peneda-Gerês National Park (Northern Portugal). There are many factors that can affect reptile assemblage between those two periods according to specific habitat requirements of reptile species, such like the increase of temperature, decrease of rainfall, and the effect of a forest fire occurred in 2009, and for that reason I will take them into account.

My major interest lies on biodiversity conservation and ecology, and at this time as a training student I really enjoyed doing fieldwork and get to know reptile species in their natural habitat and learned how to identify them.
